Bootcamp or Small Group Personal Training: which is right for you?

You want to start training, but then you look at the options and wonder: should I choose Bootcamp or Small Group Personal Training?
You don’t need to know all the fitness terminology. You need a session that suits you, your goals and the support you want.
At Female Personal Trainer, our women-only, hijab-friendly gym in West London, both options are coached. Here’s how to decide where to begin.
What is Bootcamp?
Bootcamp is a group workout with a trainer guiding the session. You train alongside other women, with a mix of exercises and the encouragement that comes from moving together.
It can be a good fit if you enjoy group energy, want variety and would like to make exercise a regular part of your week. Our Bootcamp groups have up to 10 women.
You don’t have to arrive fit or know every exercise. Tell your trainer you’re new so we can explain the movements and help you find a suitable starting point.
What is Small Group Personal Training?
Small Group Personal Training, or SGPT, gives you personal training in a small group, with a maximum of six women.
The smaller group gives us more opportunity to coach your technique, help you choose weights and support you as you build confidence with strength training.
It can suit you if you want closer guidance, enjoy learning how to lift and would like the support of other women alongside your coaching.
Which is better for a beginner?
Being a beginner doesn’t automatically put you in one group. Both can be a starting point. Think about what would help you keep coming back.
- Choose Bootcamp if you enjoy a lively group workout and variety.
- Choose SGPT if a smaller group and closer attention to your technique appeal to you.
- Ask about one-to-one PT if you would prefer individual coaching.
If you have an injury or concerns about an exercise, tell us before booking so we can discuss whether the session is suitable for you.
Choose something that fits your actual week
The best plan is one you can attend consistently. Look at your work, family commitments and available session times before choosing.
You don’t need to overhaul your whole life on Monday. Start with a realistic routine, let us guide you and give yourself time to learn.
